President of Turkmenistan Reviews Future Construction Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. January 08, 2010. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the construction projects developed on the instructions of the Turkmen leader by the foreign companies – French Bouygues and Turkish Polimeks. The top managers of these companies – Turkmenistan’s long-term partners in the construction sector took part in the presentation organized at the Serdar residence.
Before the presentation President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of Bouygues Batiment International Olivier-Marie Racine, Director General of Bouygues Turkmen Michel Oche and his deputy Alexis Rechov. During the meeting the French businessmen reported on the progress on implementing the construction projects by Bouygues throughout Turkmenistan and put forward the proposals on further cooperation.
The President of Turkmenistan reviewed the projects presented by Bouygues. These included the proposals relating to the elite Oguzkent Hotel under construction on Neutrality Avenue in the historical centre of Ashgabat. In particular, the French businessmen presented the draft designs of interior decoration, interior and exterior design of the ultramodern hotel complex, which would host high-ranking guests and large international forums, to the Turkmen leader for review.
Then the Turkmen leader reviewed the draft designs of interior decoration of the buildings and premises and the adjacent territory of the Presidential palace complex that would become a new symbol of the Turkmen nationhood and greatness of the new historical epoch.
Chairman of the Artists’ Union of Turkmenistan B. Annamyradov presented the draft designs of the sculptures of the prominent historical figures of the Turkmen people to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for consideration. The President approved the designs in whole and addressed some remarks and suggestions to the authors of the sculptures of Ahalteke horses, which would adorn the adjacent territory of the palace complex.
The President of Turkmenistan reviewed the draft project on the decoration and beatification of the park that was being laid out in the city centre including the draft designs of street lamps. This park with the monuments to the great historical figures of the Turkmen people would be the venue for various cultural activities and meetings in the near future.
During the presentation the President talked to B. Annamyradov about the progress in implementing the important projects entrusted to the Turkmen architects and designers. On behalf of his colleagues the famous sculptor expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for granting confidence and providing active support to Turkmen workers of culture and his unceasing concern for the development of the national culture and art that had entered the golden age today. It was noted that Turkmen artists enthusiastically contributed to implementing the large-scale architectural and design projects in the capital, other towns and settlements throughout the country.
Emphasizing that the Government would continue proving every support to workers of culture and art the President of Turkmenistan gave the relevant high-ranking officials the instructions to accelerate reconstruction of the former building of the Museum of Turkmen Carpet that had been transferred to the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting of Turkmenistan. This building would house the Centre of Modern Fine Arts Turkmenistan.
Touching upon the draft projects and proposals presented by the Bouygues specialists and providing the specific comments, the President emphasized that the aesthetic look of the buildings under construction in the capital and throughout the country should reflect the age-old cultural values of the Turkmen people, their rich history that was maintained in a worthy manner on the epoch of new Revival. The President demanded that the high quality and compliance with the period of construction be ensured that was the ultimate requirements set to all foreign partners in Turkmenistan.
Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the draft designs, drawings and models of various facilities prepared by Polimeks and presented to the Turkmen leader by CEO Erol Tabanca. These included he large-scale project on the seaport in Turkmenbashi including necessary infrastructure facilities. In addition, the Turkish partners had prepared the proposal on the construction of the water supply system of the maritime town.
The CEO of Polimeks presented the housing development designs and urban development projects to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration. These included the project of the monumental architectural complex being formed at the intersection of Turkmenbashi Avenue and Galkynysh Street providing for reconstruction of roads, improvement of the adjacent territory and layout of green zones. The Turkish specialists had developed the development plan of a military campus including the Officers’ Centre, comfortable apartment houses, etc, which would spring up in this part of the city.
Then the Turkish businessman presented the Olympic Village project to the President for consideration.
The projects developed by the Turkish partners included construction of a cultural and recreation centre and reconstruction of the fountains in the Independence Park, along Turkmenbashi Avenue, Archabil Avenue and 10 Yil Abadanchylyk street. In addition, the Polimeks Company presented the proposal to install drip irrigation system in the park and other projects.
The CEO of the Turkish company reported on the progress on construction of a number of the important facilities and put forward the proposals on further partnership for the next few years putting emphasis on the year 2011, when Turkmenistan would celebrate the 20th anniversary of independence.
Upon thoroughly reviewing the Polimeks’ proposals President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the ongoing urban development projects in Turkmenistan should embody advanced architectural and engineering achievements and the best national architectural traditions. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that all buildings and facilitate sunder construction in the capital and country sites should become the visible symbols of new times and therefore must meet the criteria for quality and reliability and, of course, the high aesthetic standards. In this context the Turkmen leader demanded that all the details – from illumination to road construction and pavement, from landscaping to layout of park zones be thoroughly developed.
The CEO of Polimeks assured the President that the Turkish company was keenly interested in furthering mutually advantageous cooperation with Turkmenistan and would meet all requirements and fulfill all instructions.
