OREANDA-NEWS. January 08, 2010. The Employment Service of the Ministry of Labour & Social Protection of Azerbaijan remains the country’s best employment bureau”.

The Ministry reports that 46,467 persons applied to the Service in 2009.

“Of them 28,382 ones were provided with suitable jobs. In addition, 5,086 were given status of unemployed in accordance with legislation, 5,687 received unemployment benefits, 4,827 were drawn to vocational training courses that is by 42% more against the 2008 indicator. 1,508 persons were provided with paid public jobs,” the Service reported.

The difference between quantity of registered unemployed persons and number of unemployment benefit recipients is linked with various conditions of registration and accrued items, and “balance” on benefits from past periods.
