OREANDA-NEWS. January 06, 2010. four non-self-propelled river-sea barges that were ordered by “NIBULON” were launched at OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” in Mykolayiv.

Launching of the vessels was rather unusual. The General Director of “NIBULON”, the Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadaturskyy went together with the guests to one of the barges and took photo against the background of the logo of the company, located on hatchway cover.

"We are one family – said General Director of “Wadan Yards Okean”, the Hero of Ukraine Mykola Pavlovych Romanchuk - We are the union of the sickle and hammer that really works for the prosperity of our country. On the 10th of May, the work on the first barge was started. Today is the 3rd of December. During 6 months 12 non-self-propelled vessels have been built. This is really a historic event: the Ukrainian producer works for Ukrainian customer, building the Ukrainian fleet.” Thus, the total load of 12-ships fleet is 54 thousand tons, which equals cargo carrying capacity vessels of PANAMAX type.

Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadaturskyy read the official greeting of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko to collective of “NIBULON” and OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean”.

Oleksiy Vadaturskyy noted that he hadn’t planned a grand rally. For the company today’s event is significant, but much time is spent on solving other problems: “Today the work of our company is blocked by the stakeholders to stop development of our company and prevent its proper work in Mykolayiv. These people are as the “Somali pirates”, they do not let the vessels enter our company.

This is not only our company’s problem. This is a problem of business freedom. Today it happened to us, tomorrow it can happen to every enterprise in Ukraine. This is an infringement upon freedom of labor, freedom of enterprise, freedom of economic activity and life.

More than 50 days we are hindered to work. But due to the support of our colleagues in the agricultural sector, the entrepreneurs who know me and my company, we believe that this discretion will come to an end soon. The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko knows about this issue, so he instructed the General Prosecutor, Security Service of Ukraine to understand the situation and bring guilty to justice.    I hope that eventually the truth and freedom will win.

Oleksiy Opanasovych noted that despite such obstacles, today “NIBULON” signs the contract for another 8 vessels with OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean”. He said that if the company was not hindered, “NIBULON” would be ready to sign other contracts.

“If there were 2 companies such as “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv, then all 3 shipyards would work.  And if there were 10 companies, Ukraine would achieve much higher results in the agricultural sector. If the yield on the fields of Ukraine were the same as the yield on the farms of our company, then crop yield in Ukraine would reach 90 million tons of high quality”- said Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadaturskyy.

The mayor of Mykolayiv city Volodymyr Chaika also expressed his view on the problem that “NIBULON” faced today: “I can not be apart of the attacks on local government (public authorities), that are taking place today here. It can not be ignored by deputies, and the mayor of the city of Mykolayiv. That is why today we have applied to the General Prosecutor, to the courts to stop this lawlessness. In any case we will defend our right, the rights of our citizens. Today these events are hampering the capital formation to Mykolayiv. How can “NIBULON” make new orders if its proper work is hindered? You can notice how people were glad to hear about signing a new contract. Because it is - a guarantee that tomorrow they will work and have salaries. And for the city of Mykolayiv - this is additional budget revenue.

Workers of OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” supported the team of “NIBULON”: “Today, our colleagues have some problems. This obstacles are artificially created to hinder the normal healthy business, which lets us live, create, feed our families. It prevents the normal working atmosphere in our collectives. We are the workers of OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” and we will not allow destroying the business. Nothing will stop us. We will overcome everything”.

Godmothers of four new barges, who are the representatives of “NIBULON” met obligations properly: deputy director of quality assurance and product storage N.M. Kravets’, head of capital construction, G.V. Volkova, head of environmental protection A.A. Izmyestyeva, Finance Department cashier economist S.V. Bocharova.

The contracts for construction of 8 new barges were signed by the General directors of “NIBULON”  and “Wadan Yards Okean”.
So, from the 10th of December, OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” starts working in 2 shifts for fleet which will consist of 24 non-self-propelled vessels be ready in April”.
