In 2008, the bilateral trade turnover increased by 44% to USD 256 million. In the first half of 2009, the figure reached USD 140 million.
Both countries have enough potential to increase trade volumes, the sides agreed. The possible areas for expansion of cooperation are textile and pharmaceutical industries, as well as agricultural products processing.
The parties analyzed the current state of bilateral economic relations and outlines tasks for expansion of cooperation in the future, UzA reported.
The considered issues included expansion of the number of joint ventures, efficient use of water energy resources, transport communications and transit.
