Russian Oil Transported via Druzhba Pipeline as Normal
OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2010. The Russian oil is transported via the Belarusian part of the long-distance pipeline Druzhba as usual. The company Gomeltransneft Druzhba of the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim operates in line with daily oil transportation timetable that has been agreed with the Russian side, Gomeltransneft Druzhba Deputy Director General Pavel Karpovich told media on 4 January.
In the four days of the new year over 800,000 tonnes of hydrocarbons has been pumped to Ukraine and non-CIS states. In January 2010 6.7 million tonnes will be pumped, or as much oil as the average monthly figure last year.
According to the source, adopted by the Belarus Economy Ministry in 2009, the tariffs on oil transportation by Gomeltransneft Druzhba’s pipeline remain in place. They are exceedingly lower than those in neighboring countries.
Pavel Karpovich said that 79.6 million tonnes of oil was pumped via Belarus in 2009 using the system of long-distance pipelines Druzhba. According to the Russian partner AK Transneft, the expected amount of oil to be transported via Belarus this year might be inconsiderably reduced.
