OREANDA-NEWS. January 4, 2010. At the initiative of Sberbank of Russia, the major shareholder of JSC “BPS-Bank” owning 93.27% of shares, the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders was held.

2 issues of the agenda were discussed during the meeting: amendments to the Statute of JSC “BPS-Bank” and election of the new Supervisory Board of JSC “BPS-Bank”.

The following new members of the Supervisory Board were elected: Andrey Kobiakov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, 8 representatives of Sberbank of Russia JSC, Victor Shumilo, General Director of ZAO “Atlant” and the independent representative of the Russian State Institute of the Intellectual Property. Election of the independent representative to the Supervisory Board satisfies the international requirements to the composition of the bank’s managing board.

In accordance with the performance results for 11M 2009 among 32 Belarusian banks JSC "BPS-Bank" is ranked 3rd by assets, equity, obtained retail deposits and number and coverage of branches.
