President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received President – Director General of Bouygues Group Martin Bouygues, President of SCDM Company Olivier Bouygues, CEO of Bouygues Batiment International Olivier-Marie Racine, Director General of Bouygues Turkmen Michel Oche and Bouygues Commercial Director Alexis Rechov.

Thanking the Turkmen leader for the opportunity to discuss the aspects of bilateral cooperation during a personal meeting, the guests cordially congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the coming New Year and expressed the wishes of wellbeing and prosperity to the Turkmen people. Martin Bouygues emphasized that it was great honour for his company to cooperate with Turkmenistan and collaborate in the large-scale projects initiated by the Turkmen leader. The guest noted that the well thought-out, prudent policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov enabled Turkmenistan to avoid the consequences of the world financial crisis and fostered economic growth making the country very attractive for world business.

Greeting the French businessmen and thanking for the heartfelt wishes Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on Turkmenistan’s commitment to the strategy of wide international partnership on a long-term mutually beneficial basis.

Expressing interest in maintaining the long-term business relations, the effectiveness of which was illustrated by the successful joint urban development projects, the leader of the Turkmen state and his guests discussed the fields of further cooperation in compliance with the priorities of Turkmenistan’s social and economic development. The top manager of Bouygues reported on the progress in construction of the facilities in the capital, in particular the Oguzkent Hotel, and put forward the proposals on further partnership. In this context the Turkmen leader and the French businessmen exchanged views on the plans of cooperation for the coming years, in particular the year 2011 when Turkmenistan would celebrate the 20th anniversary of independence.

Then the meeting was continued in the Big Hall of the Cabinet of Ministers building where the French businessmen presented a number of the large-scale projects developed in compliance with the Turkmen leader’s remarks and suggestions. The top managers of the well-known foreign companies including CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited (PRC), Petrofac International (UAE), LLC (UAE) and Gulf Oil & Gas FZE (UAE), LG International Corp. and Hyundai Engineering Co., LTD (South Korea) attended the presentation.

Approving the draft projects in whole, the President emphasized that each of the facilities under construction in the country should meet the high quality standards and be distinguished for the original architectural decisions and innovative engineering solutions.

The top managers of Bouygues stated that the French company was sincerely proud of cooperation with Turkmenistan, highly valued the confidence granted to French specialists in Turkmenistan and spare no effort to meet its obligations.
