OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2009. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) in the Nizhny Novgorod region (the Nizhny Novgorod OFAS Russia) fined "LUKOIL-Volganefteproduct" Ltd. 45,817,670 Rubles for abusing dominant position in the retail oil products markets in Nizhny Novgorod.

In October 2009 the Nizhny Novgorod OFAS Russia found that "LUKOIL-Volganefteproduct" Ltd. violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (which prohibits abusing dominant position).

The company violated the law by fixing and maintaining from October 2008 to March 2009 monopolistically high retail prices for oil products sold in Nizhny Novgorod.
