OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2009. The European Union is preparing to become familiar for itself with a new field of activity in Central Asia.

Well-informed sources say that the EU starts a new project of technical assistance in Central Asia, oriented to ensure food security in the region.

“The European Commission has already finished choice of contractors to realize a relevant project by awarding the contract to a consortium of five companies,” a source said.

Among the contractors is also an Azerbaijan company.

“Introductive stage of the project is under start currently,” the source emphasized.
