Russia and Ukraine Agree upon Crude Transit Terms
OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2009. The Russian Federation and Ukraine have approved terms of oil transit to Europe, press secretary of the Russian Energy Ministry Irina Esipova said Monday adding these arrangements of the parties will prevent any disruptions in energy supplies.
Esipova added that a relevant agreement between Russia and Ukraine will be documented “tomorrow or day after tomorrow”. Earlier, on Monday, the European Union said Russia warned it could possibly halt crude shipments to Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Russian crude is delivered to these European countries through Druzhba oil pipeline, with one of its offshoots running across Ukraine.
