OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2009. Implementation of investment projects in the sphere of housing and communal services and plans to involve investments next year became the basic issue of the last session of the working group on assistance in involvement of investments into economy of the region presided by the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia Pavel Chernov.

Speaking at the session Chairman of the State Committee on Reforming of Housing and Communal Services Vladimir Koryagin said that for implementation of municipal infrastructure modernization projects in Karelia since 2006 there has been involved more than 3 billion roubles.

According to the imformation provided by the State Committee on Reforming of Housing and Communal Services, within the past five years 97 boiler-houses have been modernized, 212 new boilers have been installed, boiler-houses in settlements of Vartsila and Salmi of Sortavala region have been reconstructed.

Equipment to switch over some boiler-houses to such local fuel as wood chips and peat had already been purshased. It is palnned to build or reconstruct boiler-houses in Suojarvi, Pudozh, Pryazha, Kalevala, Lahdenpohja and Sortavala regions.

Reconstruction of treatment facilities of Petrozavodsk proceeds in the region. By March, 2010 it is planned to complete the first stage of the Building and Reconstruction of Water Treatment Facilities in Petrozavodsk regional investment project and to fulfill this project completely by the Day of the City.

Another large investment project on development of Pudozh municipal infrastructure will take the next three years. Its total cost makes 682 million roubles.

Now the State Committee carries on negotiations with potential investors on construction projects of 18 complexes of treatment facilities with 3 billion 700 million roubles of presumable investments.

Within the scope of further work on gasification of the republic by 2013 it is planned to switch over 26 boiler-houses in Solomennoye, Shuya, Novaya Vilga, Vilga, Konchezero, Marcial Waters to natural gas.

Within the scope of cooperation agreement between the government of the republic and Moscow company of Small Generators it has been fulfilled two investment projects of construction and reconstruction of boiler-houses in settlements of Kaalamo and Helyla in Sortavala region with switching them over to biofuel. These two projects were implemented due to extrabudgetary funds in the sum of 95 million roubles.

In conclusion of the session of the working group Prime Minister of the Government of Karelia Pavel Chernov has emphasized that implementation of large investment projects in the sphere of housing and communal services of the republic is possible only within the scope of partnership between the state and private sector of economy, that, in turn, means individual share in financing due to funds of budget of the republic and funds of municipal formations. According to Pavel Chernov, there is positive experience of such partnership, and the republic will keep working in this direction. Next year it is planne to implement about 20 large investment projects.
