OREANDA-NEWS. December 24, 2009. The Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov takes part in the joint meeting of the State Council and the Council for Information Society Development at the President of the Russian Federation. The meeting will be devoted to results of e-government introduction at the federal and regional levels and priorities of information society development in 2010-2011. President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev holds the session.

The issue of introduction of modern information technologies in the sphere of provision of government services will be in the focus of attention. Results of work on the e-government development will be presented in the report of Igor Schegolev, Minister of of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov will address a meeting on the subject of Regional Experience and Basic Barriers on the Way of Information Society Development and the e-Government Implementation.

Participants of the meeting will also discuss the draft Strategy of the Information Society Development in the Russian Federation and the package of measures for its support. Solution of many tasks of application of information and communication technologies in public and municipal management and in the social sphere at the regional level will be also considered there.

After the State Council meeting Mr Katanandov with his spouse is invited to a state reception in the Kremlin.
