OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2009. On 22 December, the Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading the bill on the land moratorium extension till 2012.

Millennium Capital considers that the extension of the land sale moratorium will not affect investments into the agricultural sector of Ukraine. Currently, most of foreign investors estimate the enterprise management quality and its operational results, rather than the value of land in its possession when investing in any enterprise. Moreover, the biggest agriculture producers, such as Astarta , Myronivskyy Hliboproduct and Ukrros , have long term land lease contracts and do not need to purchase land for their operational activity.
