ROSNO Makes Two Large MOD Compensation Payments in Southern Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2009. The South Directorate of OJSC IC ROSNO has paid the owners of BMW 325ХI and Toyota Land Cruiser 120 insurance compensations for the total amount exceeding 2.3 mln. roubles, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
The BMW 325ХI, manufactured in 2007, damaged in a traffic accident, was for the first time insured with ROSNO in March 2009 against the following risks: damage, fire, and theft. The insured accident occurred in Rostov-on-Don. During the nighttime driving along Voroshilovsky Avenue, the driver failed to notice and avoid a road hole. As a result, the car sustained significant mechanical damage and was recognized as damaged beyond repair. Subsequently, ROSNO’s Rostov branch paid an insurance compensation of 1,168,858 roubles.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 120, manufactured in 2007, had been owned by an Astrakhan-based company and had also been insured with ROSNO under the MOD policy against such risks as theft, damage and fire. During a business trip to St. Petersburg, the driver employed by the company parked the vehicle on a street and left for a meeting with a customer. Upon his return, the driver did not found the vehicle and notified the theft to the nearest police office. On the basis of the fact of theft, a criminal case was opened. Subsequently, the company owning the vehicle received an insurance compensation of 1,217,979 roubles.
