OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2009. According to the National Statistics Office, motor transport transported 3 million 26,900 tones of goods in January-November 2009, down 39.3 percent against the same period last year. Railway enterprises transported 3 million 978,600 tones of goods in the reporting period, down 62.2 percent than in the same period last year.

The largest proportion in the total volume of goods loaded at the railway stations of the country in January-November 2009 was taken by crops and flour production – 39.9 percent, ferrous metals and scrap metal – 20 percent, building material and cement – 11.3 percent.

Cargo transportation by the air transport for 11 months of the year reduced by 2.2 percent, totaling 740 tones; cargo transportation by the river transport went down by 7 percent, totaling 177,600 tones.
