OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2009. The oil pipeline system "East Siberia – Pacific ocean" will be put into operation at the end of December, when the first tanker will come into the specialized oil-loading sea port Kozmino, which is the end point of ESPO.

The solemn ceremony of putting into operation the oil pipeline system "East Siberia – Pacific ocean" is planned to be held on 27th – 29th December. It will take place at the specialized oil-loading sea port Kozmino. At the end of December, the first tanker named "Moscow University" will come into the port for loading with the first batch of oil, which will make up 100,000 tons.

The specialized oil-loading sea port Kozmino has all the necessary facilities for loading tankers of deadweight from 80 to 150 thousand tons.

According to feasibility study of the project, at the first stage of implementation of the project "ESPO" the capacity of port makes up 15 million tons of oil a year, at the second stage – 30 million tons of oil. Oil transported via the oil pipeline "East Siberia – Pacific ocean" to Kozmina Bay will be exported to the countries of the Asian – Pacific region.
