President Yushchenko Concerned on Falling Foreign Trade Rates
OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2009. President Victor Yushchenko wrote a letter to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko drawing the Government’s attention to the need for better protection of Ukrainian producers on foreign markets, reported the Official website president.gov.ua.
The President expresses concern about the current state of Ukraine's foreign trade, as well as about further complication of Ukrainian exporters’ access to global markets in times of world financial and economic recession.
According to Victor Yushchenko, foreign trade turnover during last 10 months of fell almost twice and amounted to only 67.5 billion dollars compared to 134.9 billion dollars for same period last year. "Certainly, under such conditions, the Government of Ukraine should actively take measures to maintain the presence of Ukrainian goods on traditional foreign markets", said the President.
The Head of State believes that the consolidated efforts should focused on solving all problems that hinder foreign trade.
