OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. SOLLERS-Far East held a ceremonial opening of the plant’s Staff Traing Center. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Premier Igor Sechin, Gov. Sergey Darkin of Primorsky Krai, and General Director of SOLLERS Company Vadim Shvetsov.
The SOLLERS-Far East Staff Training Center will train employees that will be directly involved in making cars: staff of the Logistics Service and Vehicle Assembly Line workers. The comprehensive curriculum of the Training Center allows the workers to attend programs in various disciplines. The manufacturing processes training equipment will make it possible to train collectors and assemblers alike. The training program includes theoretical knowledge of car parts and units, lists of parts and accessories and assembly operations. In the theoretical section staff members study the history of the company, safety rules and basic tool operation. During the practical part the workers show what they have learned by practicing assembly of a vehicle in lab conditions. All the operations practiced by the program participants are identical to actual assembly operations.
The SOLLERS-Far East Training Center has double and quadruple locklifts, tool operation training stands, industrial furniture: tool carts and component trays. The Training Center has special instructional stands showing details of the most difficult operations, such as joining interface connectors, assembling brake systems, fuel feed systems, and power-steering units. The Training Center will immediately commence training of the team, who will turn out the first SsangYong vehicle made at SOLLERS-Far East as soon as in December of this year. “We believe that effective manufacturing practices and quality guarantees of the cars start with effective staff training. This is why the opening of the Training Center is an important part of any new project. The new Training Center of SOLLERS-Far East shows that the process of setting up a car manufacturing plant in the Far East is nearing completion,” said Vadim Shvetsov, General Director of SOLLERS.
