OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. State customers will be able to purchase UAZ vehicles made at Ulyanovsky Motor Plant directly, without auctions or tenders.

Ulyanovsky Motor Plant is one of the manufacturers of automobiles and road construction equipment included in the list of Russian manufacturers approved by the Government for exclusively supplying state orders.  According to Government order dated October 5, state customers can settle direct delivery contracts with OAO UAZ without organizing auctions or attracting intermediaries.

“This decision will allow customers to save time on choosing the supplier and signing the contract.  Instead of 1 ? months, which had been previously required to hold an auction and sign the contract, the process will now take two weeks at most,” said Anton Karpov, head of UAZ Sales Department. 

Before the end of 2009 UAZ will ship more than 5,000 vehicles to state customers.
