OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2009. For the purpose of improvement of Safety Management System of OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim specialists of IQNet company (Prague, Czech Republic) had a field audit of Safety Management System for compliance with the Directive of OHSAS 18001 International Standard, version 2007, reported the press-centre of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.

The following production plants were inspected in the course of the audit: Butyl and Synthetic Rubber Plants, Butadiene and Hydrocarbon Feed, Isoprene-Monomer, Polystyrene, Ethylene, Ethylene Oxide, Styrene and Polyether Resin, Oligomer Plant, and also Railway Transportation Department, Water Services, Wastewater Disposal System as well as Department for Production Control of Industrial Safety.

The inspection results showed that since the last audit a significant scope of work has been performed to develop the Safety Management System. Based on the interviews with the personnel it was established that the employees comprehend the Company’s Occupational Safety Policy and they have the necessary knowledge for accomplishment of appropriate objectives and tasks.

No inadequacies or disadvantages were found, and 9 recommendations were issued to ensure further development of Safety Management System.
