OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2009. 75.61 tons of vegetable oil have been handled in the port of Taman for 11 months in 2009, branch of FGUP RosMorPort in Taman said.

General scheme of port development in Taman, with a total cargo turnover of 33.5 million tons per year was approved by Decree of the Ministry of Transport of Russia in 2004. The General Scheme (Task Plan) of port development in accordance with the resolutions of RosMorRechFleet included the following investors: OJSC "Togliatti" (6 million tons per year), JSC "Tamanneftegaz" (10.5 million tons per year), LLC " Gaspromexport "(13.5 million tons per year), LLC" SoyuzResurs-Kuban "(6.5 million tons per year), LLC Food Ingredients (0.438 million tons per year), OOO Uzhnoe (0,5 million tons per year).

Concept of port development in the Krasnodar Territory and the federal target program "Modernization of transport system in Russia (2002-2010) implies the construction of a new port on Taman in the vicinity of Cape Gelezny Rog denotes. Port handles mostly bulked cargo (oil products, ammonia, liquefied gases and mineral fertilizers). Total transshipment volume is considered to reach 36 million tons per year. General scheme of port development in Taman is approved March 31, 2004 by Decree of Ministry of Transport in Russia with number VR-53-R. In 10 months of 2009 thousand 70 tons of bulked cargo were handled in the port of Taman.
