OREANDA-NEWS. During the period from December 12 to December 20, 2009 Beltelecom is conducting an upgrade of the Long-Distance Exchange, including the digital overlay network with the numbering of Minsk (210-хх-хх, 211-хх-хх and 217-хх-хх). The company’s specialists will change the equipment and upgrade the software, reported the press-centre of Beltelecom.

To reduce possible inconvenience the range of works will be conducted at night from December 12 to December 20, 2009.

Access failures for some telephone services or their temporary quality deterioration might occur during the fulfillment of the works. In particular there might be some problems with access to Minsk City Telephone Network, long-distance network and international network; moreover dial-up Internet access might also be problematic.

The services of broadband Internet access and Digital Interactive Television will be available.

As a result of the upgrade next generation equipment having a number of advantages and additional features will be installed. It will significantly increase the number of handled calls especially in busy hours. The new equipment is designed with account of optimal use of space and consumption of electric power. Moreover the expansion of the link capacity of the Long-Distance Exchange will enable an increase of the number of links on the existing directions and an implementation of new ones.
