FAS Researches Ferry Services of Ust-Luga-Baltiisk-German Ports Line
OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2009. FAS Russia is researching the state of competition in the market for the cargo transportation services on the "Ust'-Luga - Baltiisk" line, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS Russia's research is particularly focused on the following issues:
- Possible collusion with the purposes of increasing prices;
- Dividing the market;
- Imposing unfavourable contract conditions upon counteragents;
- Preventing market entry/ exit of other economic entities.
In this connection, FAS Russia asks citizens (physical and legal persons) to give information about possible antimonopoly violations in this market.
The sea railway-and-automobile ferry crossing "Ust'-Luga - Baltiisk - German ports" is designed to provide reliable transport connection between the Leningrad region, the Kaliningrad region and German ports. The "Baltiisk" ferry transports trains, cars, trucks, and other rolling vehicles, and automotive trailers. The distance between the ports of "Ust'-Luga" and "Baltiisk" is more than 500 nautical miles.
