Russian and Ecuador Signed Intergovernmental Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2009. Rafael Correa, President of the Republic of Ecuador paid official visit to the Russian Federation for the first time in the whole history of diplomatic relations between Russia and Ecuador.
The visit resulted in signing the Intergovernmental Russian-Ecuador Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Aid in Customs Affairs by Head of the Russian Customs Service A. Belyaninov and General Manager of the Ecuador Customs Corporation S. Leon Abad.
The Intergovernmental Agreement will allow the Russian FCS to fully use the mechanism of international cooperation in solving problems faced by customs administrations of Russia and Ecuador.
The Agreement is an extensive document, aimed at the creation of the necessary contractual legal framework for a large-scale cooperation in customs affairs, reflecting the current level of Russian-Ecuador relations.
The agreement among others involves mutual assistance of Russian and Ecuador customs services within their competence and investigation and restraint of violations of customs legislation under internal laws.
