OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2009. UTair-Ukraine, a subsidiary of UTair Aviation in Ukraine is slated to launch operations between Moscow and three destinations in Ukraine in December 2009. The subsidiary’s maiden flight is set for December 11 from Lugansk International Airport, Ukraine to Moscow, Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia.UTair-Ukraine was established in September 2008 and received Ukrainian Civil Aviation certification in autumn of this year.
The airline will offer regular and charter services as well as MRO services for its fleet at its local hub in Lugansk International Airport.Initial UTair-Ukraine routes will include flights between Moscow and Lugansk, Kharkov and Nikolaev. Later the airline is planning to expand its route network both domestically in Ukraine and beyond its borders. UTair-Ukraine operations will be conducted with European ATR 42 aircraft.
The aircraft’s low operational costs will allow the airline to offer reasonable fares on the new routes.UTair Aviation and UTair-Ukraine have signed a code sharing agreement providing for joint operations on international routes between Moscow and several Ukrainian destinations. The agreement enables UTair-Ukraine’s passengers to be eligible for UTair special offers and fares. UTair-Ukraine passengers are automatically eligible for special connecting flight fares on UTair flights operated via Vnukovo Airport. Passengers are also eligible for discount fares offered to passengers in qualifying categories and STATUS frequent-flyer program incentives. They can also take advantage of special savings on round trip tickets.
