OREANDA-NEWS. December 8, 2009. European Bureau branch of OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation paid CJSC Rifams insurance broker RUR 5,158mln for fire on the warehouse in Murmansk. Risk was accepted from OJSC Military Insurance Company.

The insured event took place on 8 April, 2009. As a result of current thermal effect due to emergency operation of cold store lighting equipment, the warehouse of the Insured was set on fire. Despite all the efforts of the firemen the fire expanded to the whole building of more than 2.6 thousand square meters. There was a collapse of roof and partially roof framing. Fire destroyed food supplies and damaged equipment and structures.

The event was admitted insured and after receipt of full loss portfolio Transsiberian Re decided to pay RUB 5,158mln less reinstatement premium received hereon.
