OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2009. Belarus’ imports of grape wines decreased 2% on the year in the first ten months of 2009 year-on-year to 3.43 million decaliters, according to preliminary statistics of the State Customs Committee.

In monetary terms, imports increased 2.7% to USD 44.371 million.

Wine imports from Moldova amounted to 2.903 million decaliters, down 5.2% in terms of decaliters, to the amount of USD 32.051 million, down 1.3% in monetary terms.

Imports from Ukraine went up 110% to 161,183 decaliters, worth USD 1.479 million, up 89.5%. Wine imports from Georgia increased 31.8% to 67,550 decaliters, worth USD 2.623 million, up 25.8%. Imports from Chile went up 85.1% to 53,500 decaliters, from Spain rose 12.4% to 55,342 decaliters, from France increased 4.1% to 47,985 decaliters, and from Italy increased 26% to 35,192 decaliters.
