OREANDA-NEWS. December 07, 2009. Dynamic development of Internet resources occurs. TCP/IP is base for development. Today the fourth version of IPv4 is widely used. Sharp increase of Internet users for the last decade brought to gradual decrease of free address space, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

An active work on new version of IPv6 is carried out to expand IP-networks resources. Due to this Kazakhtelecom JSC performed some tests connected with network infrastructure resources to IPv6 implementation.

Particularly, IPv6 test completed at interaction with Russian telecoms operator OJSC Rostelecom. Test on IPv6 traffic performed over IPv4 infrastructure to end users. Possibility to organize VPNv6 has been carried out.

Growth of Internet network today is determined not only by an absolute number of users and subscribers, but some new factors, including common attractiveness and lack of boarders in Internet; multi service networks availability, providing transfer of voice, video and data; popularity of wireless and mobile devices; home appliances, connected to IP-network.
Besides, socialization of Internet occurs. Countries and its governing bodies transfer all interaction process with society to Internet.

World practice shows that rush Internet development drives to decrease of free IP-addresses. Analysts forecast that pool of free IPv4 addresses will be depleted to the middle of 2012.
The next version of IPv6 is called to solve this problem, supporting considerable large address space at expense of address length from 32 to128 bit.

Support of large number of address hierarchy levels and at expense of this addresses hosts, simplicity of IP-addresses control, dynamic distribution of address information between hosts and routers, limitation of main router addresses  at expense of routers’ aggregation, increase of flexibility for securing new IP-applications, improvement of security at expense of identification expansion support, check of data integrity and securing data confidentiality– all these features are IPv6 distinctive features.
