OREANDA-NEWS. December 04, 2009. As it was informed in ANRCETI, the company Moldtelecom has already conducted technical testing of the network (3G) at the end of the last week, and was included in the public register of the suppliers as provider of networks and mobile electronic communications services of third generation (3G).

ANRCETI has issued "Moldtelecom" the license to use radio frequencies for rendering networks and 3G services in December 2008. The license gives the company the right to provide 3G services and networks of general use in IMT-2000 system, observing UMTS (W-CDMA) standards.

The license terms stipulate that in the end of the first year of operation, "Moldtelecom" shall provide 3G network in Chisinau and Balti, in the end of the second year- in Comrat municipality as well as in Cahul, Orhei, Ungheni and Soroca and in the third – in the rest 29 regional centers. The first two licenses to provide 3G networks and services were issued by the agency in the second half of 2008.

The first license was issued to the company Orange – Moldova in August 2008 and the second in September 2008- to Moldcell. Moldcell Company has launched its 3G network in Chisinau on October 1, 2008, and Orange - Moldova – on November 1, 2008.
