Yuzhny Port (the Ukraine) Cargo Turnover Down by 15.7%
OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2009. Cargo turnover of Yuzhny Commercial Seaport GP (Odessa region, the Ukraine) decreased to 16 mln 280.5 thou tons within 11 months, 2009 press-service of the enterprise reported. As per the information provided by Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Ukraine this figure amounted to 19.935 mln tons in January-November of the previous year which means the largest Ukraine’s port has reduced its transhipment volumes by 15.7% year-on-year.
Bulk cargo share amounted to 87.0% of overall turnover, that of general cargoes – 0.6%, liquid – 12.4%. The port has handled 11 mln 873.5 thou tons of cargo, 652 vessels and 148 thou 234 low railcars within the reporting period.
In November, 2009 port’s cargo turnover amounted to 1 mln 464.2 thou tons. Bulk cargoes share amounted to 85.0% of the overall volume pf cargo transhipped, liquid – 15.0%. Cargo handling reached the level of 975.9 thou tons. The port has handled 45 vessels and 13, 159 low railcars in November, 2009.
