OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2009. Oil industry workers of Yashildepe oil-and-gas producing Department of the Turkmennebit State Concern have extracted the two millionth ton of oil since commercial development of Yashildepe field on the right bank of the Amu Darya River was started. Turkmen oil industry workers extracted the first tons of hydrocarbons in the Kyzylkum about five years ago – in late November, 2004. Since then oil is supplied from Yashildepe to the Seidi oil refinery. For this purpose the 60-kilometre pipeline connecting Yashildepe with the Pelvert terminal on the left bank was built. Over 90% of oil products manufactured from this oil are exported.
In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan the USD 42 million worth investment project aimed at increasing oil production was launched in Yashildepe. The specialists of the China National Petrochemical Corporation (SINOPEC) implement this project under the contract. The Chinese partners are to drill and put of six production wells with the target well depth up to 3,100 metres on production in Yashildepe field. The project has reached the final stage. This year the SINOPEC specialists have put four oil-producing wells on production. The workers complete drilling two other wells.
There are over 20 running wells in the field. Hydrocarbon production is consistently increased through putting new wells on production and repairing inactive wells.
Much attention is paid to creating the favourable social and living conditions for oil industry workers in the region. A comfortable compound with all conveniences and facilities was built in Kyzylkum. Oil industry workers have three meals a day. In the nearest future the water pipeline will supply purified water from the Amu Darya River to the workers’ town. The units cleaning, treating and transporting high-quality drinking water will be put into operation on the right bank. Construction of the 60-kilometre fiberglass conduit that will connect the treatment facilities with the oil industry workers’ town is under completion.
