OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2009. AN-148-100 regional jet of a new generation was represented to His Highness, Crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi airport. The wide capabilities of the aircraft were introduced to His Highness by Mr. A. Pinskiy, the First Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, Mr. V.V.Belinskiy, Director General of ANTONOV State Aircraft Building Concern, Mr. V.A.Boguslayev, President of Motor Sich JSC, Mr. V.N.Kazurov, Deputy Chief Designer of ANTONOV ASTC. Representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in UAE and heads of the airlines took part in the meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed visited the aircraft, became acquainted with its characteristics in detail as well as with advantages of the AN-148 further development including designing on its base new VIP airplanes, freighters and special-purpose aircraft. To sum up the meeting, H.H. said, that “the aircraft of the AN-148 family can find wide application in the region” and expressed his interest in development of cooperation between Ukraine and UAE in aviation field.

The presentation was conducted following representing the AN-148 programme at Dubai Air Show’2009 held within a period from 15th to 19th of November 2009. Besides AN-148, ANTONOV represented there programmes of AN-74 multipurpose family and AN-70 military transport STOL aircraft. Mr. V.A.Yuschenko, President of Ukraine, visited the enterprise’s exposition at Dubai air show.
