Azerbaijani Banks Net International Reserves Rose by 9%
OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2009. For Jan-Oct 2009 NIR declined by 13.8% since early 2009 and by 11.1% against the indicator by 1st November 2008.
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) informs that as of 1st November NIR totaled AZN 3.48 bn against AZN 3.19 bn by 1st October, AZN 3.316 bn by 1st September, AZN 3.426 bn by 1st August, AZN 3.348 bn by 1st July, AZN 3.245 bn by 1st June, AZN 3.217 bn by 1st May, AZN 3.189 bn by 1st April, AZN 3.787 bn by 1st March, AZN 4.09 bn by 1st February, AZN 4.036 bn by 1st January of 2009 and AZN 3.915 bn by 1st November 2008.
Simultaneously CBA’s NIR made up AZN 4.17 bn versus AZN 3.887 bn, AZN 3.93 bn, AZN 3.909 bn, AZN 4.176 bn, AZN 4.134 bn, AZN 4.105 bn, AZN 4.132 bn, AZN 4.754 bn, AZN 5.07 bn, AZN 5.115 bn and AZN 4.817 bn respectively and commercial banks’ NIR – (-AZN 621.4 million) versus (-AZN 629.8 million), (-AZN 546.5 million), (-AZN 418.6 million), (-AZN 756.4 million), (-AZN 808.1 million), (-AZN 888.3 million), (-AZN 806.8 million), (-774.3 million), (-AZN 770.8 million), (-AZN 868.8 million) and (-AZN 612.3 million) respectively.
In 2008 this highest NIR was registered by 1st May (AZN 4.315 bn), when NB’s NIR reached AZN 4.56 bn and commercial banks’ NFA (-AZN 18 million).
By 1st November 2009, CBA had only AZN 4.422 bn of overall foreign reserves with AZN 250 million of foreign liabilities.
Commercial banks’ overall net international reserves by the reported date were not brought, but as of 1st October of the year they amounted AZN 1.167 bn with liabilities for AZN 1.796 bn.
CBA’s international assets reached their maximal level by the end of 2008 (AZN 5.18 bn) and commercial bank’s assets by 1st November 2008 (AZN 1.54 bn).
As of 1st November net domestic assets (NDA) totaled AZN 4.19 bn versus AZN 4.26 bn by 1st October, AZN 4.25 bn by 1st September, AZN 4.156 bn by 1st August, AZN 3.346 bn by 1st July, AZN 3.366 bn by 1st June, AZN 3.285 bn by 1st May AZN 3.208 bn by 1st April, AZN 3.54 bn by 1st March, AZN 3.9 bn by 1st February, AZN 4.458 bn by January of the year and AZN 3.69 bn by 1st November 2008. At the same time, by the reported date CBA’s NDA totaled AZN 42.1 million (versus AZN 293.7 million a month earlier), while data on commercial bank’s NDA were not brought (a month ago they reached AZN 4.77 bn.
By 1st November 2009 exchange rate was AZN 0.8032 to the US dollar.
