OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2009. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, average wages in the public sector amounted to 2,341.3 leis, increasing by 22,1% as compared to the same period of the last year and in the real of economy – to 2,902.7 leis, or 5% higher than at the same period of 2008.

The highest salaries in January-October 2009 were registered in the financial sector- 5,590.2 lei, electricity, heat, gas and water supply sectors- 4513.9 leis, transport and communications - 3635,6 leis, real estate transactions - 3,446.4 leis, public administration - 3,168.8 leis, mining industry - 3385 leis.

The lowest salaries were registered in agriculture and forestry - 1,389.5 leis, fish farming - 1,467.5 leis, education - 2,047.2 leis and healthcare - 2640 leis. In October 2009, the average salary in Moldova amounted to 2,686.2 leis. In comparison with October 2008, it increased by 2,9% while the real wages have grown by 4,6%.
