OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2009. The representatives of OJSC “Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation” conducted more than 50 dual meetings and negotiations with the participants of November’s Business Meetings of Reinsurers, which were held in Moscow “Holliday Inn Sokolniki” hotel from 24 to 25 November 2009.

The meetings which have become traditional were held for the eighth time. As usual both Russian companies and companies from near-abroad and far abroad countries participated in them. These meetings subtotal the fall-winter renegotiation of obligatory programs. In “Holiday Inn Sokolniki” the Corporation was represented by 8 people starting from CEO to underwriters of different lines of business.

For the convenience, Transsiberian Re rented a hall. The Corporation held meetings with both reputable reinsurance partners and relatively new companies where the possibilities of further extension of cooperation were discussed, including development and promotion of new products, claim cooperation.

According to Irina Postnikova, Transsiberian Re CEO, the world financial crisis which started last year had an impact on insurance market in general and reinsurance market in particular. However, apart from negative consequences there are positive points as well: increase of interest in Russian reinsurers’ services, especially from insurers of Russia and other CIS countries.
