OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2009. The newspaper “DELO”  for the first time in Ukraine organized the information about the most significant wholesale and wholesale and retail markets of the world. For this purpose the information about all leading markets all over the world was gathered. The main emphasis was given to the total area, targeted merchandizing and sales volume of the market. Among the important factors taken into consideration was the number of businessmen and businesses located within the framework of the market and the number of people served by the market.

The list was made from the information provided by the World Union of Wholesale Markets, specialized regional and national associations and also the administration of the markets. In particular the information that was given at the request of “DELO”, information from the official websites of the markets or managing companies was used.

Shopping Center “Barabashovo” with the square 75 hectare and sales volume – 19.5 billion UAH became 14th in the list of the largest markets of the world.  Not only have the residents of the City of Kharkov but also people from different regions of Ukraine and neighboring countries run businesses here. More than 5 thousand companies and businesspeople provide working opportunities for 70 thousand people at “Barabashovo”.
