OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2009. The Chairman of Council of Founders of Joint Stock Company “Concern AVEC and Co” Borys Feldman introduced a new General Director – Valeriy Baginskiy to the personnel. Valeriy Baginskiy has been with the company in varying positions from the beginning. During 9 years he was the head of the legal department of the Company, after that he became the Vice-President for Legal Affairs.

“So how did the year 2009 look for the Company and what plans do you have for the nearest future”, - asked our reporter.  Valeriy Baginskiy answered:

- For us, as for many other large companies, the year 2009 was not that easy. But now we can state for sure that the “point of no return” was left behind. It was a merit of business owners and of all people that are working in the company. Special words of gratitude I would like to express towards our partners: banks, financial institution and construction companies. We value their understanding and trust.

- In the nearest future we are planning to finish our two large development projects – 10 Sumskaya Str. and 72 Sumskaya Str. We considered all negative tendencies that were present at the market due to the common economic crisis and we updated in a certain way our strategic and tactical plans. And we hope that our projects will be in-demand and interesting for customers.

  This year Concern has turned down a number of minor business activities. Was it done out of a necessity or it was a deliberate action?

- At first, in business all necessary actions are deliberate ones. But, as we speak seriously, the main activity line of “Concern AVEC” is development and management in commercial real estate sector. This is our specialization – what we know and can do. To turn down the minor activities is a regular step for the system-base companies to which we belong. Undoubtedly, the common economic situation leads to it. The turn down of minor business activities takes place when it is necessary to give the Company a smooth flow and to avoid the “heel over”.

Does the business portfolio of “AVEC” have any new promising development projects?

- Sure, we have around 10 projects of this kind. Right now they are all on different stages. All of these projects have a potential. Furthermore, we are confident that we will have enough capacity to develop them by ourselves. But however the option to attract the strategic partners and investors are actively discussed now. Some projects are located in Kiev, but we also work in other regions of Ukraine – in particular – Crimea. As we have a certain experience in organization and development of large-scale wholesale and retail centers, we are ready to introduce some of our projects on the market.

“Concern AVEC” – is one of the few companies that has strongly marked social accountability. Will the economic crisis have any impact on this line of business activity of the company?

  - It is true that the social accountability is the foundation stone of the philosophy of our company that was laid by the founders and shared by all personnel. Despite of the geography of our projects we will always find ways and possibilities to support our city and to give to the people of the city of Kharkov interesting and socially significant projects.
