OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2009. BALT-AUDIT-EXPERT has completed its project ‘The Saint-Petersburg experience in modernization of education: expansion to Russian regions’. This project was implemented in 2008 – 2009 against the Federal Education Agency Order, reported the press-centre of BALT-AUDIT-EXPERT.

In 2009 within the framework of this project over 25 learning activities dedicated to the modernization of education took place. Among them are such arrangements as trainings, study tours, round-table discussions, business games etc. They brought together 587 experts from different education establishments and regional education agencies of the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Irkutsk & Kemerovo regions, the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Leningrad, Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod & Pskov regions, the Republic of Karelia, the Republic of Mordovia, the Chuvash Republic, the Saratov & Yaroslavl regions and some other Russian regions.

One of the most important achievements of the project is the development and publishing of a study guide ‘Modernization of the regional educational system: the experience of Saint-Petersburg’. This guide summarizes the experience and achievements of Saint-Petersburg in the field of modernization of education.

The final stage of the project was marked with an Interregional Research-to-Practice Conference in Saint-Petersburg ‘Modernization of the educational system: the experience of Saint-Petersburg & the other constituent entities of the North-West Federal District’. The conference brought together top-managers and leading experts in education development from the Saint-Petersburg Education Committee, as well as staff of regional and municipal education agencies, scientific and higher education establishments, teaching and expert communities.
