OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2009. Belarus’ affiliates of Heineken group of companies – Syabar, in the Mogilev Region, and Rechitsapivo, in the Gomel Region – saw a 33.3% reduction in output in the first ten months of 2009 from the January-October 2008 level to 4.378 million decaliters, Belarus’ food concern Belgospischeprom said in a statement.

Syabar’s output fell 17.5% on the year to 3.481 million decaliters, and Rechitsapivo’s output decreased 61.7% to 897,000 decaliters because of a large-scale upgrade. Most of Rechitsapivo brands are now produced using Syabar’s facilities.

In October, the Belarusian breweries controlled by Heineken increased beer output 86% on the year to 458,000 decaliters. Syabar increased beer output 160% to 358,000 decaliters, whereas Rechitsapivo’s output fell 8.3% to 100,000 decaliters.

Syabar made 2.644 million decaliters of beer in plastic bottles in the first ten months, down 22.3%, and 808,000 decaliters in glass bottles, down 1.1%. Beer output in cans reached 27,000 decaliters.

Rechitsapivo produced 578,000 decaliters of beer in plastic bottles in January-October 2009, down 62.4%, and 133,000 decaliters in glass bottles, down 77.9%. Beer offering in kegs fell 5.6% to 186,000 decaliters.

Exports by Syabar and Rechitsapivo reached 99,200 decaliters in January-October, up 40.9% on the year: 34,300 decaliters by Syabar, up 87.4%, and 64,900 decaliters by Rechitsapivo, up 24.5%.
