OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2009. 9th International Central Asia conference "Cement industry and market" was held in Tashkent on. It was organized by Uzstroymaterialy joint-stock company, BusinessCem (Russia) in collaboration with the government of Uzbekistan, Tashkent city administration, State Architecture Committee of Uzbekistan and Russian Cement Producers Union.

In the last 7-8 years the volume of cement industry increased twice, export more than 10 times. Special attention is paid to the quantity of production. The quality management system has been integrated into all cement manufacturing plants.

The economic growth of Uzbekistan and neighboring regions causes significant growth rates of construction work and demand for cement. The volume of cement industry for the last years has increased, measured up 100% of capacity in 2008.

The available industrial capacities do not meet the market demands. Uzstroymaterialy (Uzbek building materials) joint-stock company has developed a Concept of the Uzbek cement industry development in 2008-2012, which encompasses the cement industry development strategy.

The government of Uzbekistan pays special attention to the development of building materials industry for satisfying demands of the market in modern building products. Various programs have been adopted such as developing building materials industry in 2005-2010, modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of companies producing building materials in 2007-2011, and measures on implementation of important projects in 2009-2014.

Such conferences play important role in the achieving planned tasks, studying the condition and trends of development of the market of building materials, cement and products made of it, in familiarization and introduction of advanced technologies, complex solution of issues on modernization and creation of new manufactures.

Heads and specialists of leading companies from 13 countries – Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Iran, Egypt, Spain, Oman, Turkey, France, Sweden and Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine – participated in the work of the conference.
