OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2009. Fortum has rolled back construction of a fifth power unit at Tyumen TPP-2 for 2 years. Russian generating company Fortum (former TGK-10), controlled by Finnish concern Fortum, has postponed the construction of a fifth power unit at Tyumen TPP-2 till 2014 from 2012, the company reported Thursday.

Initially the company planned to commission a 400-MW fifth power unit at the end of 2012, but as a number of other generating facilities are planned to be put into operation in the region in the next few years and there is a likelihood for power capacity to come via trunk grids from other regions, no electric power shortage is expected in the Tyumen energy system in coming years, said the press release.
