OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2009. The millionth ton was handled at Baltic Grain Terminal (BTZ). The result is unparalleled for many years success.

The transshipments reaching over million tones were recorded in 70s. The best result of this period was recorded in 1978 when it reached nearly 2 million tones. For the last time over one million result was recorded at the area of modern Baltic Grain Terminal in 1988 (21 years ago).

Baltic Grain Terminal, privatized on November 7th, 2005, is the most modern terminal in Poland dedicated to transshipment of all the types of grain and fodder cargoes.

Nowadays the company owners are ADM Szamotuіy Sp.z o.o. (U.S. capital) and Baltic Logistic Holding B.V. with the headquarters in Rotterdam.

The millionth ton was unloaded from sailing under Philippines flag m/v "Silviculture". The ship entered Port of Gdynia on November, 11th with the biggest (49,9 th. tones) load of soy pellets on board.

The ship moored at Indyjskie Quay of Baltic Grain Terminal. The cargo (25 th. tons) will be partially placed in flat storage warehouse. Another part will be carried out of the terminal, during 13 days long unloading.

The result of Port of Gdynia after 10 months reached 1,63 million tones of grain products and total cargo handled in the port exceeded 11 million tones.
