OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2009. Vilnius International Airport (VIA) informed that the Lithuanian airline company „Star1 Airlines“ started regular flights from Vilnius to Milan, reported the press-centre of VIA.

The flights to Malpensa airport shall be carried out twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The company is planning to increase the number of these flights during summer season. 

„Star1 Airlines“ shall carry passengers with a 148 – seat airplane „Boeing 737–700 Next-Generation”.

“Milan is one of the directions of great importance for Vilnius Airport.  In 2008, it was one of 15 most popular directions from Vilnius; therefore, the connection between the capital of Lithuania and North Italy economic centre, is very important”, Simonas Bartkus, Head of Aviation Services Unit of VIA, says.
