OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2009. DSMF says that the number of country’s labour pensioners reached 1.3 million.

“Quantity of female pensioners around the country prevails again. Currently 60.5% of pensioners are women (785,146 people), including 383,547 mothers with many children, while 39.5% are men (513,704 persons). Besides, 9,880 of those who receive labor pensions are state officials,” it was reported.

Quantity of those who get pensions on an industrial injury and an illness connected with profession reaches 4,560.

“138,311 persons are getting pensions because of loss of breadwinner, including 22 who are members of families of national heroes,” it was reported.

To remind, the right for labor pension in Azerbaijan is given to women aged 57 years and men aged 62 years in case of five-year work period.

According to the amended Law on Labour Pension, since 1 January 2010 pension age for men will be increased by six months every year until it reaches 63 years old, while pension age for women will be raised until 1st January 2016 before it reaches 60 years old.
