OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2009. Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev  opened Baku-Shamakhi highway after reconstruction.

According to Azerbaijani Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov, the highway was reconstructed, financed by the government and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), within the framework of the second project of main highways.

The highway is 15-17 meters wide and in places to 22 meters. Traffic is 2-strip and in places 4-strip.
