Alexey Miller Conducted Meeting with President of Republic of Kalmykia
OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2009. The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of the Republic of Kalmykia.
The meeting participants addressed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Kalmykia. The parties discussed gasification of residential areas in the Republic. In particular, the meeting addressed the prospects for constructing a gas lateral and a gas distribution station in the Kanukovo village.
Alexey Miller and Kirsan Ilyumzhinov noted that Gazprom and the Kalmykian Government were fully performing the obligations undertaken in relation to the Republic gasification.
Background
The Agreement of Cooperation between the Republic of Kalmykia and Gazprom was entered into in December 2006 and is in force for an indefinite period, the Accord on Gasification – in June 2005.
Gazprom supplies gas to the Republic of Kalmykia in the agreed amounts.
The gasification level of the Republic of Kalmykia is 75.5 per cent, with 100 per cent in cities and towns, and 57 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.
In 2009 Gazprom invested some RUB 252.5 million in the gasification of the Republic of Kalmykia. The funds were allocated to accomplish the construction of six inter-settlement gas pipelines and to design another six ones.
The Kalmykian Government, on its part, ensured construction of intra-settlement gas pipelines with a length of 68.2 kilometers and prepared 14 boiler houses and 1,379 households for gas supply.
