OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009.  “SC Olympstroy” offered Russian Geographical Society (RGS) to cooperate under the President’s Corporation Coordinating Ecological Council.

Vice-president of “SC Olympstroy” Stanislav Anan’ev addressed a respective letter to RGS.

According to his words, the main Corporation’s goal is to attracting non-governmental and scientific organizations to ecological maintenance work for preparation Olympic Games. That’s why in August 2009 the Coordinating Ecological Council under the President of “SC Olympstroy” was organized, in which work representatives of largest non-governmental ecological communities are involved.

“We think that ‘Olympstroy’ and Russian Geographical society have common aims, — said Anan’ev. — Furthermore not only in part of ecological maintenance but also in travel business (as we develop ski resort) as well as in questions of ecological knowledge expansion, because the experience of using new ‘green’ standards will be shifted to next constructions in Russia”.

The participation of RGS specialists in the Coordinating Council, who have a large experience in such issues as rational usage of natural resources, territorial planning, including the construction of infrastructure, protection the environment issues too, will allow to solve additional problems of providing ecological security.

In appeal to delegates of Extraordinary Congress of RGS that took place in Moscow on 17–18th November, the Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin called RGS upon the aggressive participation in ecological maintenance of XXII Winter Olympic Games Sochi 2014.
