UTK Hooks Up 500,000 Broadband Internet Users
OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. The number of UTK’s broadband users has reached half a million. Compared to the year-earlier period the operator’s broadband Internet subscriber base has surged approximately 70%. Thus, over the past year the operator’s Internet subscriber base has added roughly 200,000 users. In addition, new broadband Internet connections surged 30% in 2009.
The company began providing high-speed Internet access using хDSL technology in 2005, and this became the platform for rolling out broadband Internet up until this year. Cut the operator’s approach to technology has changed rapidly as of late, as one of its competitive advantages is the ability to provide connectivity using Ethernet to the home, FTTx and GPON cable technologies.
First and foremost, UTK will be providing broadband Internet using fiber optic cable technology in areas marked by fierce competition.
