OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. The Exchange Council of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) approved changes and additions to exchange internal documents as follows, reported the press-centre of KASE:

1) changes No. 13 to the Regulations on membership;

2) changes No. 14 to the Regulations on membership fees and exchange duties;

3) change No. 5 to the Rules on currency trading;

4) change and additions No. 15 to the Rules on currency trade settlement;

5) addition and changes No. 3 to the Regulations on currency trade settlement violation liability;

6) changes No. 9 to the Rules on futures trading and settlement;

7) changes No. 1 to the Rules on placement of government treasury bonds of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

8) change No. 4 to the Rules on admission of securities to sector 'Unlisted securities';

9) changes No. 4 to the Rules on note trading;

10) changes No. 7 to the Rules on admission to circulation of IFO securities;

11) changes and addition No. 13 to the Specification of market maker status for exchange members of categories "P" and "H" (Appendix 1 to the Rules on market maker activity).

The amendments have been prepared in accordance with Development Strategy of the Exchange for 2007-2010 and in pursuance with the Basic plan for 2009 in connection with changes introduced to the KASE membership category system.

In accordance with the amendments, KASE members are grouped into the following categories depending on financial instruments they are eligible to trade:

- "stock market member" - may trade in securities admitted to circulation on KASE;

- "currency market member" - may trade in currency;

- "futures market member" - may trade in derivatives.

The amendments are yet to be approved by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for regulation and supervision of financial market and financial organizations (AFS) and be effective on the first business day after the approval.

At the same time, as the new amendments come into force KASE shall invalidated internal documents "Specification of market maker status for exchange members of category "K"" (Appendix 2 to the Rules on market maker activity) and "Rights and responsibilities of exchange members of category "K", enjoying a market maker status on municipal bonds".

Renewed texts of the documents shall be released at the KASE website at http://www.kase.kz/geninfo/normbase/ after AFS grants the approval.
