RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2009. Over the week of November 16 – November 20, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 1.19% to reach 1,436.44 points (1,419.49 points as of November 13, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the rising prices for ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (plus 5.54 points) followed by ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 3.47 points) and ordinary shares of JSC "RusHydro" (HYDR) (plus 2.15 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase closing at 1,360.85 points (0.69% up against 1,351.52 points as of November 13, 2009). Last week the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest increase was reported by the industrial sector, with the RTS Industrial Index going up by 2.70%. The RTS Electric Utilities Index as well as the RTS Metals & Mining Index showed a significant growth of 2.19% and 1.17%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 0.26% against the ruble to reach 28.75 rubles per US dollar (28.67 rubles as of November 13, 2009).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week November 16 – November 20, 2009 equaled USD11.04 billion (317.02 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,064.17 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,072.20 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD506.90 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD162.80 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 50.51%, 23.88% and 7.67% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of PJSC "Krasny Kotelshchik" (KRKO) that went up by 20.00% to USD0.6 followed by privileged shares of JSC "Magadanenergo" (MAGEP) – by 13.79% to USD0.033 and ordinary shares of PJSC "VSW" (VSMZ) – by 13.68% to reach USD1,080.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of "VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation" (VSMO) that fell in price by 5.26% to reach USD72 followed by ordinary shares of Ufaneftekhim (UFNC) – by 5.08% to USD2.8 and ordinary shares of OJSC "Company "M.video" (MVID) – by 4.42% to USD3.68.
